Art by the Sea Welcomes Guest Artist Patty Becker for our April 2025 Featured Artist Show. Reception is Saturday April 5th 2-4pm. Show Runs April 1rst- 28th.

Patty’s Showings include Coos Art Museum, Expressions West, Black Market Gourmet, Gallery by the Bay, Smoke on the Water, Pony Village Mall Artisan market, Evergreen Court, Art by the Sea Gallery, Southern Coos Health Foundation and Pacific Coast Medical Park.

About Patty in her own words:

I am honored to receive a People’s Choice Award at Art By The Sea Gallery. I've always had a cluttered, creative mind. Thoughts and ideas became a career as a musician and songwriter, and my home and garden an ever-changing palette of experimental design.

My mother taught me from a very young age that the idea of necessity being the mother of invention is not just an exercise in frugality. It stretches the limits of creativity and teaches a person how to think outside the box. I love her for that. Moving from music into fine art was a scary but natural progression for me as maturity and health required a more peaceful means of expression.

It’s been a true joy experimenting with different mediums and styles, from acrylics and alcohol inks to 3D on canvas and handcrafted gift items. Hopefully, each piece either provokes an emotion or shows an unusual technique. To create something that does both would be the ultimate goal. For me, my art is a lot like my music. It's a way to express thoughts and feelings, and when you're lucky, you get to share that with others.
